Bunker Discharge Machine

What is a Bunker Discharge Machine?

A Bunker Discharge Machine (BDM) is a mechanism for reclaiming tough to manage bulk materials from silos, bunkers, hoppers, bins, stockpiles, and dome type storages. The Bunker Discharge Machine can travel to reclaim from long stockpiles or hoppers and discharge l it onto a gathering conveyor. It is frequently employed in transporting limestone, FGD gypsum, coal, clinker, iron ore, additives, cement, or wastes.

About WTW’s Bunker Discharge Machine

WTW’s Bunker Discharge Machine is specifically designed for reclaiming hard to handle, wet, and cohesive bulk materials from bunkers, hoppers, bins, silos, stockpiles, and dome type storages.

When discharging, the BDM can travel on rails. Its rotating discharge wheel reclaims the bulk material out of the storage pile or hopper and conveys it to a conveyor below the bunker discharge machine.

The BDM’s discharge wheel has six logarithmic shaped discharge arms which guarantee consistent feeding of any bulk material. Discharge arms are lined with wear resistant liner plates designed to increase the life of the discharge arms.

With our retracting arm design, the BDM can even be used for blending various bulk materials or grades of the same bulk material. Arms can retract from the stockpile, then high speed travel is engaged to move the machine quickly to another location.

Onboard weigh systems or de-dusting systems can be employed making the BDM extremely reliable with high accuracy feeding.

With reclaim rates from 10 to 2,500 t/h, WTW’s Bunker Discharge Machine has the capability to reclaim materials from massive stockpiles, extremely large silo diameters, large hoppers, free-range and longitudinal bunkers.

Utilizing alternative combinations like crushed glass, reclaimed concrete, and even plastic can substantially reduce resource depletion. This practice not only diverts waste from landfills but also offers comparable or even superior performance to traditional concrete mixtures.

Embracing green concrete technology, businesses have begun to prioritize the use of recycled materials, reducing water consumption, and implementing energy-efficient manufacturing processes. In addition, the development of smart concrete, infused with properties that sense structural changes, is a remarkable innovation transforming the construction landscape. With the arrival of self-healing materials, structures can now autonomously repair cracks, significantly extending their lifespan while curtailing maintenance expenses.

Benefits to You

  • Designed to maximize storage at the lowest operating costs.
  • Automated reclaim, blending, and high reclaim rates.
  • The discharge arms are shaped and lined with wear resistant materials to minimize wear and tear.
  • All surfaces are easy to clean and to maintain.
  • All drive components are kept away from the material, protecting them and providing easy access for maintenance or inspection purposes.
