Trailer Docking Station

WTW Americas Trailer Docking Station

The WTW Americas Trailer Docking Station (TDS) is a modular design with small dimensions, which requires minimal site prep, no pit, and no underground hopper. It is easy to install and a functional and economical solution for unloading trucks with walking floor trailers which typical carry bulk materials such as wood chips, sawdust, wood waste, alternative fuels, RDF, Fluff, Municipal solid wastes, and many other lighter density fuels. A double docking station alternative with two reception units allows either simultaneous discharge of two trailers or interruption free in-feed.

Bulk material is pushed directly out of the trailer into the docking station. Live bottom screws located in the bottom of the TDS convey the material to an elevating chain conveyor. The chain conveyor brings the material up to a manageable height, or directly into a feeder.

If required, TDS can be provided in high degree dust-free execution. A stationary hydraulic power pack is also available to decouple the semi-trailer from the truck and to be able to empty it autonomously, thus using the trailer as a small storage silo.

WTW’s TDS in used in a wide variety of industries including alternative fuels, woodchips, wood waste, gypsum, and other light density materials

Benefits to You

  • Trailer docking stations streamline the unloading process, reducing time and labor costs. Docking stations often have automated or semi-automated systems to facilitate fast and safe transfers.
  • Dock shelters and seals are often incorporated in trailer docking stations to seal the receiving materials from the elements, and to virtually eliminate dusting.
  • The Trailer can act as a temporary material storage buffer at the beginning of a process.
  • Hydraulic power packs allow for autonomous unloading.
